The Rutgers University in Your Community Girl Scout Program Award is a Cadette Girl Scout/Senior Girl Scout/Ambassador Girl Scout Program Award of the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, Inc.

You may already know that Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is the premier public research university of New Jersey and one of the oldest and most highly regarded institutions of higher education in the nation. But there's probably a lot you don't know about Rutgers. Did you know that we have three campuses, in Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick, with nearly 50,000 students and about 9,000 faculty and staff? Altogether, more people study and work at Rutgers than live in the city of New Brunswick!

Rutgers is a large and vibrant academic community, and is committed to the highest standards of teaching, research, and community service. As you earn this Program Award, you will begin to understand Rutgers' presence in your community.

The Silver/Gold Committee has approved this program as an Interest Project Patch (IPP) equivalent. The patch program will be accepted as a prerequisite for either the Silver or Gold Award. The Rutgers University in Your Community Program Award is also the perfect compliment to the College 101 Focus Book.

The patch may be worn on the back side of the vest or sash. Please check Juliette's Closet for patch availability and cost.
