Nominations sought for CASE Teaching Awards
Archived article from Oct 20, 2003
The Rutgers Citizenship and Service Education (CASE) Program has announced its first Teaching Awards. The Faculty Teaching Award and the Teaching Assistant Teaching Award will honor CASE faculty and teaching assistants who, through their special commitment to teaching and to their students’ learning, exemplify the ideals of CASE.
CASE will also award a Teaching and Research Award for the best conference paper, article, book chapter or other scholarly work that draws on the researcher’s CASE experience. CASE professors and TAs are eligible for the award.
The awards, which CASE plans to bestow annually, include $500 for each winner. Individuals must be nominated for the award, and student and self-nominations are welcome. Nominations should provide a one-page explanation of why the nominee deserves the award, the course syllabus, and letters from three individuals with direct knowledge of the nominee’s CASE teaching. Nominations for the Teaching and Research Award must include a copy of the research product. All nominations will be reviewed by a faculty and student jury, and are due at the CASE office, 191 College Ave., no later than April 15, 2004.
