Sandra Harris, professor of clinical psychology, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) and of psychology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences-New Brunswick, is the recipient of this year’s Daniel Gorenstein Memorial Award. The award was established in 1993 by the family, friends and colleagues of Daniel Gorenstein to commemorate Gorenstein’s innovative mathematical research, his skillful and enthusiastic exposition of his field, and his devoted service to Rutgers. It was first presented in 1994 and is given each year to a Rutgers faculty member for both outstanding scholarly achievement and outstanding service to the university. An award ceremony and lecture will be held Wednesday, April 26, at 5 p.m. in the auditorium of the Civic Square Building, 33 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. Harris, who is also the executive director of the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, will give a talk “Evidence Based Treatment for Autism: What We Know and What We Hope to Learn.” Following the lecture, a reception will be held in Harris’ honor in the main lobby of the Civic Square Building.
