Felissa R. Lashley, left, dean and professor at the College of Nursing, tucks a bit of history away at a site dedication ceremony for the college’s new building as, left to right, Dorothy S. Carolina, College of Nursing doctoral candidate, and nursing
students Mary Grace Siao, Nancy Liu and Semin Um look on. The April 18 ceremony at the College Avenue Gymnasium in New Brunswick kicked off the college’s 50th anniversary celebration. The time capsule, which will be placed in the new building’s wall, includes nursing journals, ceremony invitations and speeches as well as student essays about what nursing will be like in 2056. The building, between Paterson and Bayard streets near Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, will replace two older structures in New Brunswick used now by the College of Nursing.
