A new bookstore for students from three higher education institutions in Camden will serve as an anchor for the city’s burgeoning university district corridor. The University District Bookstore, on the first floor of the Camden Technology Center at Broadway and Cooper Street, will serve students from Rutgers, Camden County College and Rowan University. It is also the first new retail presence on Cooper Street in many years.
“It just makes good sense for the three higher education institutions on Cooper Street to collaborate and to maximize the state’s investment in higher education in southern New Jersey,” said Rutgers–Camden Provost Roger Dennis. “This bookstore will provide our students with excellent service while reinvigorating Cooper Street with a significant retail presence.” For years, Camden County College and Rowan students have used the Rutgers bookstore as well as other Rutgers services, such as libraries, athletics facilities and the shuttle bus system. The new bookstore offers a wide selection of general titles, textbooks, apparel and an Internet café.
