O'Hara inducted for second term

Gene O'Hara was inducted for a second six-year term on the Board of Governors at that body's Nov. 10 meeting. Reappointed by Gov. Christie Whitman, he will continue as vice chair of the board.
O'Hara was first named to the board in 1994 by Gov. Whitman. A retired chief financial officer of Prudential Insurance Co., he is chair of the board of Cathedral Health Care, which includes six hospitals in the greater Newark area. He is also chair of the board of St. Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark.
O'Hara is enrolled in the liberal studies program at the Graduate School–Newark. He received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers and did graduate study at the City College of New York.
In other business, the board named CUH2A of Princeton as the architectural firm to design the new life sciences, genetics, biomaterials facility; reappointed Deloitte & Touche as external auditors; and approved the application for state matching funds for the university's endowment contributions and donations under the Higher Education Incentive Endowment Fund and the Higher Education Incentive Grant Fund.
