Tej Nuthulaganti
M.S. in Biology, Graduate School–Camden
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Most students don’t publish papers in top-notch academic journals or sit on a national board with a $3 million budget, but Tej Nuthulaganti isn’t like most students. Tej coauthored two studies published in the
Annals of Emergency Medicine—one on child obesity and the other on the effect of language on care delivery to adolescents.
Tej also serves in a leadership position in the American Medical Student Association, a group representing aspiring physicians. He and another student, Farhad Modarai, essentially worked to increase membership in the Camden chapter from seven members to 100, making it the largest student group on campus. And next up? Tej plans to travel to Switzerland for the Geneva Seminar on Health and Globalization, being held as part of the World Health Assembly, and then apply to medical schools with a public health focus.
