Jessica Crutchlow
B.A. in Spanish, Rutgers College, New Brunswick
Hometown: Parsippany, New Jersey
Jessica Crutchlow knew she wanted to see more of the world, and that’s just what she did with the help of Rutgers Study Abroad, spending a semester in Spain and traveling to other European destinations, such as Germany and Italy. “The best aspect was getting to meet people from all over the world,” she says. “It really changes your perspective about the United States, about how you view the world.”
After honing her Spanish skills, Jessica landed an internship at the Embassy of Peru in Washington, D.C., where she got to practice her Spanish on Peruvian President Alan García Pérez and prepare him for White House meetings with President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Now she is enrolled in a master’s program in foreign language education at Rutgers Graduate School of Education, and the sky’s the limit: “I want to go everywhere and see everything.”
