Community Affairs manages a number of functions, programs, and resources for residents and groups statewide, including:

The annual NJ State Employees Charitable Campaign at Rutgers

Assisting residents and community groups with general inquiries

Campus & Community, a monthly enewsletter featuring university and New Brunswick area events and happenings

Community-University Research Partnership Grants for New Brunswick

Filming and photography permits for external media and production companies

Girl Scout Program Award, connecting young girls to Rutgers and higher education

Programs for the Community, a website and printed directory of events, programs, and services that bring Rutgers’ resources into the local community

Rutgers Day, a New Brunswick campuswide open house that showcases the university’s research, teaching, and service through fun and engaging activities for people of all ages

Rutgers Serving New Jersey T-shirt program, which provides shirts free of charge to students, faculty, staff, and alumni participating in off-campus community service

Rutgers Speakers Bureau, an online database and service that connects Rutgers experts to New Jersey community and professional organizations for speaking engagements

Senior Citizen Audit Program, through which retired New Jersey residents, age 62 or older, can attend courses on a space-available, noncredit basis, at no tuition cost
