What We Do
Key responsiblities include the following:
- Manages a number of functions statewide for the president and for the university community
- Serves as an official liaison with residents and local community groups
- Assists community groups with access to Rutgers
- Handles requests for assistance and helps resolve problems
- Administers Community-University Research Partnership Grants for New Brunswick
- Conducts New Brunswick 101: Faculty Seminar and Tour
- Manages Rutgers Day, a New Brunswick campuswide open house that showcases the university’s research, teaching, and service with fun and engaging activities for people of all ages
- Manages the Rutgers Speakers Bureau, an online database that connects Rutgers experts to New Jersey community and professional organizations for speaking engagements
- Manages the Rutgers–New Brunswick Programs for the Community website, a directory of events, programs, and services that bring Rutgers’ resources into the community
- Grants access for external media and production companies to film, photograph, or videotape on Rutgers campuses
- Administers the annual NJ State Employees Charitable Campaign at Rutgers
- Administers the Senior Citizen Audit Program, through which retired New Jersey residents, age 62 or older, can attend courses on a space-available, noncredit basis, at no tuition
- Sponsors the Rutgers University Girl Scout Program Award
